Statistics from the SIDN turns out that there are now over 4.5 million .en-the domain names are registered. The net growth was in June, significantly less than at the beginning of this year and the number of registrars is in the past few years, not as low.
The Foundation for Internet domain name registrations is responsible for the management of the .en-domain and publishes monthly new statistics about the developments. The most recent figures show that at the end of June 4.513.620 .nl domain names were registered.
Although there were almost 88 thousand new domains were registered, the net growth in June compared with previous months marginally; effective came 26.729 new .nl domain names. This is barely half of the average net growth over the first five months of this year. This is mainly due to the relatively high number of terminations in June.
From the data, it can further be deduced that the number of registrars, companies that for their customers domain names to register through the system of the SIDN, re is decreased. In June 2009, the Netherlands still 2047 registrars. In the last two years that has fallen to 1858.
