I’m no audiophile. But because I after years of watching television with the meager sound from the LCD tv came to the conclusion that I have quite a lot of time spend on watching tv. I started to think. If I like tv series and see why I improve my viewing experience with better sound?
After doing some research, I’m on the Denon soundplate DHT-T110 ended. This is apparently a different version than the DHT-T100 but with so few differences that the reviews on internet they have caught. This was one of the best tested and during the purchase very appealing priced at the BCC (lwa 200) and I have him still, but purchased.
The connection was not difficult. The difficulty was the fact that the soundplate no HDMI input. A 3.5 mm jack connection for the analog sound, or an optical or coaxial digital connection.
My tv has no headphone jack, no digital coax connection and no optical connector.
I was so dependent on my set-top box of kpn. There is an optical connection. The toslink cable that came with the soundplate is included, however, so thin and short that I the following day a more substantial cable I need to buy.
I am now a few days in the possession of the soundplate, and I am very satisfied.
The soundplate looks discreet, maybe a bit boring but I do love the “classic”design.
Where I soundplate for have bought of course is the sound that the emissions, and that does the denon in my opinion is great!
It will not compare with a high end surround set, there is the price is also not to. However, it is more than enough to have a living room to fill with beautiful, well-balanced sounds. Pirates of the caribbean sounded good to me during the dialogues and the background music was subtle, not too dominating.
Also listening to music via bluetooth fine, sound is again perfect for a living room to fill. The soundplate can be hard to be turned on without distortion or cracking.
I also had a stereo midiset in my tv cabinet, the corresponding boxes were on top of the cabinet behind the tv. This midiset I have also connected to the soundplate with using the headphone jack to the 3.5 mm jack input, this work also fine. Way ugly boxes!
The remote is small but nice. You can use the soundplate learn your tv remote control to use. This is easy to learn. However, since I have the speakers in my tv disabled get, unfortunately this does not work useful for me. Every time I the volume increase, the speakers of my tv also harder, which makes for an ugly echo.
All in all I am very pleased with the soundplate. The price/quality ratio is excellent!
