Brit demands money back Android phone due to privacy policy Google

A British privacyvoorvechter demands for Google to return the money that he paid for his Android phone. The Brit can’t find it in the new privacy policy of Google and claims that he therefore his Android phone not able to use.

Google combines with its new privacy policy, which Thursday became effective, the dates of several of his services and those of Android phones to get a better profile of users leads to more targeted ads to be able to sell. Google makes a serious infringement on the right to privacy of Android users, claims privacyvoorvechter Alexander Hanff from the British city of Lancaster.

The Brit has, therefore, lodged a complaint against Google. According to Hanff had a complaint against the seller of his phone, CarPhone Warehouse, or its provider make no sense, because they have no control over the privacy policy of Google. The privacyvoorvechter thinks he has a chance of success. “None of the legal experts that I spoke to, says that I stand a chance.”

Hanff requires 400 pounds, about 480 euro, for its HTC Desire to substitute a smartphone without Android. According to Google, however, it is perfectly possible to have an Android phone without Google collects data. Then, a user can only make calls and send text messages, respond to the search giant against Independent.

The Google privacy policy is controversial. Privacywaakhonden from various European countries think that the new rules may be in conflict with the European legislation, so the privacy policy not entered should have had and, therefore, illegal.
