Just a week earlier, the Prince had been in a hospital: He complained of malaise, but was dismissed after a three-hour treatment. Three years after his death published his autobiography, “The Beautiful Ones”.

Four days before his death, Prince Dan bucks, bring called, to tell him that he’s okay. The press exaggerating, he had just flu-like symptoms, he explained to the author that he had contracted to Write his autobiography. Prince wanted to talk about the Details of the book.

21. April 2016 beeping bring was – just like the Rest of the world – surprised by the news that the Prince was found dead in an Elevator. He was just 57 years old. Until then he had worked feverishly on his autobiography, was his last major project.

“Expression of sorrow and hymn to life”

‘Yellow Cloud” – the guitar of Prince was auctioned in 2018, $ 225,000

Beeping bring had worked together for three months closely with the artists and decided to bring the work to the end. Three years after the death of Prince, the autobiography now appears in English and German in the book trade. The title of “The Beautiful Ones” had chosen the musicians themselves, it is the Name of a rock ballad on his Album “Purple Rain”. First of all it should be only the working title, but after the death of the Prince, it stuck.

“For the Rest of my life I will ask myself, what would have written for a book the Prince and I together, if he would not have died,” writes Dan bucks, bring in the Foreword. “This book represents only a fraction of what it can be had; and this book is thanks to its mere existence is both an expression of grief and a hymn to life.”

“The white Establihshment had no idea”

Full to the brim with ideas had been a Prince – he had had enough of music, and it was his heart’s desire to write a book. “I want my first book to be better than my first Album. I like it, but I am significantly smarter than I was at that time”, – quotes the bucks bring to the artist.

Prince wanted to show the world who he really was – as a musician and as a human being. Because too often a critic of the white establishment ment would have described his music using words that have nothing to do with him, and thus shown that they had no idea who he really was.

You’ve got him, “attributed to alchemical characteristics” – “in order to transform the literal meaning of the word, the dark art of base metal into Gold”. He would never do something like that, so Prince to beeping get. His goal had always been the harmony. Especially angry is the word made him “magically”, writes bucks bring in his introduction and admits to it in his texts about Prince also repeatedly applied. However, “radio is the opposite of magic, the radio rules”, have Prince made it clear.

Treasure chamber full of memories

Beeping bring and the Prince have led to long conversations. Only this could be the book what it is: an authentic work. Beeping bring wanted to publish a “Merchandise-stuff”, but Prince meet. For months, he crawled to the estate and was met with, as he writes, a veritable treasure trove: a student ID from High School, the wallet of the father, numerous drawings, lyrics, and photos. Prince had hoarded all of these things – just nothing that reminded of a diary.

And yet: “Everything was speaking to us, wanted to have Prince”, – stated in the Preface, and continues: “The book could appear with his voice, under his authorship.”

Personal Insights
The book is divided into four sections: In the almost 50-page introduction, author Dan bucks take on the Emergence of the book tells of his numerous Meetings with the “charming and self-critical” of the musicians, of the intimacy between the two developed, and from the shock, when he learned of his death. There are personal insights that reveal a very prominent image of the artist.

Of Superman and the first kiss

Then about 50 hand-written on paper, placed the pages from the pen of Prince himself, early memories and a Declaration of love to his parents. One learns that the five year old Laura was the first woman that kissed him – she had chosen him to be the “husband play” – and that he and his little girlfriend, the first Couple with different skin color were not in Minneapolis, but the most recent.

Prince tells of his infatuation for Superman, wonder but at the same time, why all superheroes are white. He tells of the quarrels of his parents – “they were always the most stylish of the whole street” – up to the divorce, and his first public appearance in the school: not as a musician, but as a tap dancer. The applause, as Prince, he got well only because he had finally disappeared from the stage.

Out of the cellar in the musical Olympus

In the rehearsal room by DJ Terry “Motormouth” spent Prince as a Teenager, countless hours, he was forfeited, but there has long been the music. Terry and his wife Tracy had been Ike and Tina Turner of North Minneapolis, he observes. In the basement room he heard the Songs of BB King, James Brown, Aretha Franklin and others, and transcribed eager texts. Later, he wrote his own Songs; his voice was only an Instrument of many that he had mastered.

As the success came, and he heard himself for the first Time on the Radio, not recognized by the Prince, according to their own information. At 19, he became the Superstar and wrote music history. All this we learn in the carefully from the legacy of the musician-put-together records, photos and hand-written texts. It is the real-time story told of a boy the armor and a figure that an artistic Vision, created the world, before the Hits and the fame of defined him.

“The Beautiful Ones – The unfinished autobiography” by Prince & Co-author Dan bucks bring is published by the Heyne publishing house.
