The long Wait has come to an end. After ten years of the Band Rammstein released a new Album. The Rocker beat political tones.
Rammstein Songs are rarely unique. The lyrics of singer Till Lindemann often work on different levels. The interpretation of game spaces, the martial Occur in Videos and on stage, and, not least, direct or indirect quotes from the Nazi icon Riefenstahl have one of the world’s most successful German Bands introduced often the allegation to play very far on the right edge. With their seventh Studio album, Rammstein has positioned itself clearly.
The Album is simply called “Rammstein”, contains eleven Songs and will be released this Friday. The Videos to “Germany” and “Radio” were clicks in a very short time a million times is attached. The first track, “Germany” started from Zero to One in the German Single Charts. Meanwhile, the Song is not even in the Top Ten in the process.
Limits exceeded?
At the end of March, the musicians had announced the “Germany”-Video: In the short sequence of the members of the Band are to be seen in clothes reminiscent of those of concentration camp prisoners. The Band of politicians, historians and Jewish organisations heavily criticized. As Charlotte Knobloch, the former President of the Central Council of Jews, said: “With this Video, the Band has exceeded a limit. Like Rammstein needs the suffering and murder of millions to entertainment purposes, is frivolous and offensive.”

The Song itself is a brutal how little national settlement with 2000 years of German history. “My love I can’t give it to you”, is a line. It was too “overpowering, superfluous, Superman, tired,” because “the higher you climb, the more you have to fall”. However, the next line of trouble: “Germany, Germany holds back on all”.
In a different direction of the Rammstein-Song “Radio” takes. The song is a cry against censorship and repression: “We were not allowed to belong to it; nothing to see, talk or hear.” But music know, as well as thoughts, “no borders, no fences”. In the Video, a black-uniformed army did not manage to take the radio station and to make the musicians silenced.
Disappointed Fans
The reactions on the Album are mixed. Many Fans are disappointed because they had expected after the long wait, more: in terms of content and musically.
At the end of may Rammstein goes on a largely sold-out stadium tour of Europe. The opening concert will take place on 27. May in Gelsenkirchen instead.
