Hamilton again on Pole Position

It’s happening, how it came to an end: Briton Lewis Hamilton starts the new formula 1 season with the best starting place in Melbourne. The competition may feel like Groundhog day – the same thing here!

The reigning formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton (article image) has taken the first Pole Position of the season. In Qualifying for the Australian Grand Prix (Sunday, 6.10 PM CET) referred the Mercedes driver from England team-mate Valtteri Bottas (Finland) and the driver from Heppenheim, Sebastian Vettel in the Ferrari on the courts. Vettel’s gap to his rival amounted to a whopping seven-tenths.

What was going on, a Ferrari?

“I’m still shaking. It was so tight. It comes from the Tests in the Winter and don’t know where you stand. Incredible. We are looking for perfection,” said Hamilton. His rival Vettel in his Ferrari, according to the impressions of the test drives in Barcelona as the boosted car was not commented on: “I know what was going on. The track is special because it can always happen. But I had imagined it the other way around. Mercedes is the clear favorite here.”

It is Hamilton’s sixth Melbourne-Pole in series, has won it in the context of this series so far, however, only the race in 2015. With his 84. Career Pole has expanded to Hamilton, the formula 1 record. Nico Hulkenberg in the Renault ended up on eleventh place.
