Formula 1 world champion Hamilton stays at Mercedes

As expected, the four-time formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton extended arrows from his contract at the Silver. With Mercedes, the British have a long common past.

Since the days of the sparrows from the roofs of the pit lane, whistled it, now it’s official: formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton holds Mercedes Loyalty. “Just a formality”

“Since then, Toto Wolff and I sat in the Winter, this contract extension is basically just a formality,” said Hamilton: “I’m for 20 years a part of the Rennfamilie of Mercedes, and I’ve never felt more comfortable in a Team. We are on and off the race track, on a wave length – and I look forward to more victories in the future.”

Three world title in a silver arrow

Hamilton had already been in 1998 as a 13-Year-old into the support programme of the formula 1 team McLaren-Mercedes. His first world title and he celebrated in 2008 with McLaren. 2013 Hamilton joined Mercedes as the successor of record world champion Michael Schumacher. 2014, 2015 and 2017, the Briton won the silver arrow to the world championship of drivers. In 2016, he had to give less than his German team-mate Nico Rosberg beaten. So far, Hamilton caught up with Mercedes 44 Grand Prix victories. Currently, the title defender is on the second place in the overall standings behind Ferrari driver Sebastian Vettel.
