BlackBerry brings this week a significant update to its mobile operating system for existing devices. BlackBerry 10.2 will be available for the Z10, Q10 and Q5, all of which earlier this year ended.

In the BlackBerry 10.2 update, there are a number of new features, such as notifications when you respond directly without the corresponding app to open it, a priority hub for the most important notifications, notifications on the lockscreen and improvements to the virtual keyboard. BlackBerry has the most important changes at a glance.

The update will from this week be available in Europe, including the Netherlands. When Dutch users exactly the update can be expected, is unclear. The release does not come as a surprise: the BlackBerry Z30 recently came out with 10.2 and there emerged online already several test versions on which users could install.

BlackBerry 10.2 is the third version of the new mobile operating system within a year. In January came the first version with the Z10, while the Q10 this spring version 10.1 released. It is unclear how many smartphones with BB10 by Blackberry will be sold, but recent quarterly results indicate that it is to a few million per quarter.
