HP begins selling the Slate 7 tablet in the Netherlands

HP is in the Netherlands, began selling its first Android tablet: the HP Slate 7. The device has a screen diagonal of 7″ and is powered by a dualcore Cortex A9-soc. The tablet has 8GB storage and will cost 149 euros.

HP is aiming the Slate 7 is clearly on the bottom of the market and the specs are also modest. The Cortex A9-soc comes from the stable of Rockchip and ticking at 1.6 GHz. There is 1GB of ram present, and only 8GB storage. Via a micro-sd card can the memory, however, will be expanded. Connections can be established via 802.11 n-wi-fi and bluetooth 2.1. Photos are a 3-megapixel camera and a vga front camera is present. The thickness is 10.7 mm, the weight is 368 grams and the battery has about 5 hours of life.

The Slate 7 in February already announced during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. It is going to be HP’s first tablet using the Android operating system. Previously, the company tablets with the besturingssyseem WebOS, but these developments were, after disappointing sales discontinued. In addition to the Android tablet, HP also tablets with Windows, though those are mainly in the business segment targeted.

The Slate 7 has a suggested retail price of 149 euros. A version with more than 8GB of storage memory there is not, but users can choose from two colors: gray and red.
