It is 2014 possible to get a separate subscription for the use of mobile internet abroad. Now take users by default to their own provider. As a result, the rates for roaming go down.
Because providers abroad Dutch customers may lure with low rates, for example during a holiday, the prices of roaming go down. Now, customers must still pay for roaming on their own network provider. Thanks to the scheme, there should be more competition and would be the rates for mobile internet abroad in the fall, argues the European Commission.
The rules are not fixed yet; it’s about a provisional deal by the European Commission, which still has to be tuned. The deal also means that rates for mobile internet abroad in the next few years remain higher than the European Commission had proposed. From this summer would never be more than 50 cents per megabyte need to be paid, but the new proposal speaks of 70 cents.
The new roaming regulation should in april will be the final. Both the rates for consumers if the rates that providers each other pay go down.
