From a recently released patent shows that Nikon may be working on the development of a new 135mm-primelens with a maximum aperture of f/1,8. The new lens would be the current Nikkor AF-D 135mm F2 DC can be replaced.

The new design differs in a large number of areas with the current Nikkor AF DC 135mm f/2 lens. So does the design use of nikon’s VR image stabilization and is in place of the rear-focusing for the focus use internal focusing.

Also, the new design, as described in the patent application, which is on the Egami blog, is significantly more complex. So would the new lens be built up from no less than fifteen lens elements, divided into nine groups, while the Nikkor AF DC 135mm f/2 lens, first released in 1995, a construction with seven lens elements in six groups.

The so-called defocus control mechanism of the Nikkor AF DC 135mm f/2 lens, used to the sharpness and blur in the image is selectively set for, for example portrait, however, appears not to return.

Nikon would also work on a 28mm f/1.8 G lens. Currently, Nikon has only the Nikkor AF 28mm f/2.8 D lens in its range. The AF 28mm f/1,4 D lens had to clear the field after the 24mm f/1.4 G-was introduced. However, it is not known whether Nikon has the new 135mm-lens design goes into production.
