Internet usage via smartphone in year doubled

In 2011, twice as many internet users via their smartphone, online and in the past year. More than half of the internet users used social-networking sites, but the number of mobile internet through the laptop has been rising for years hardly.

This is evident from new figures from the CBS, which calculated that in 2011, 43 percent of the internettende Dutch of internet use via mobile phone. It also shows that more than half of the internet users uses social networking sites. For young people up to 25 is this even 88 percent. In addition, the percentage of internet users that shop online are slowly rising; in 2011 is 79 percent.
