Wednesday, the first reviews of the Nexus 6 appeared, the new smartphone in Google Nexus series that is about a number of weeks in the Netherlands appears. The phone is good, so is the shared conclusion, but the battery life is disappointing.

One of the advantages that all the reviewers on the Nexus 6 is the presence of Android Lollipop. The software is fresh, experienced and Ars Technica calls the example, while it is not perfect, but it is the best Android update in years. Also the design of Motorola, the solidity and extra features like voice control and Ambient Display be appreciated. Further, the conclusion that the unit with its 5,96″screen is very large and that not everyone has this format will be able to handle. The resolution of 2560×1440 pixels is impressive on an amoled panel, but AnandTech notes that the color reproduction is not accurate, and that there is too much saturation.

The Snapdragon 805-soc from Qualcomm is a fast quadcore, and scores as expected, but Ars Technica found that low sequential read and write speeds of the memory for longer waiting times when loading apps, poor multitaskervaring and slower gameweergave than the Nexus 5 sure. According to AnandTech would be bugs in Android Lollipop for the framedrops and freezes ensure.

The battery life is not a single reviewer excited. Engadget calls it mediocre, The Verge speaks of is inconsistent. The competitive Note 4 from Samsung with similar specifications set, across the board, better battery times down at AnandTech. Finally, the camera is a lot better than previous Nexus devices, but it is also not a better camera than that of high-endconcurrenten. With a price of 649 dollars, in the Netherlands and Belgium 649 euros, the Nexus 6 is not cheap, but less expensive than Samsung’s Note 4 and Apple’s iPhone 6 Plus. The smartphone, however, has also its downsides, making it a tough sell for Google, according to the reviewers.
