TwittraShareBKA has contacted the American internet platform Gab to obtain information about a German user who allegedly insulted Ricarda Lang by publishing two posts mocking her weight and «sexualizing» her.
The authority states in his letter to Gab that it is illegal in Germany not to show due «respect» to politicians and other people in power, or to insult their «honor».
Gab CEO Andrew Torba scoffs at the letter, describing the request as one of the «ridiculous» the company has received from abroad. He announces that he will not comply with the request.
One of the more ridiculous foreign data requests that Gab received (and turned down) from Germany was when they wanted us to dox a user for calling a female politician fat. pic.twitter.com/ZGrBUeqwXd

BKA's request includes, among other things, the user's IP address, full name, date of birth, phone number and address.
