The development team behind a couple of programming languages has shown that the the source code of the open source Roslyn compiler is going to move from Microsoft’s Codeplex site to the GitHub. The developers say to make use of the vibrant development community at GitHub.
The Roslyn compiler is licensed under the .JUST program from Microsoft and is used for the compiling of Visual Basic and C#code. Until now, it was for the development of the compiler Codeplex, the open source platform from Microsoft. The developers have, however, indicated the Roslyn code to move to GitHub, a popular software development platform for open-source projects.
According to the developers of the Managed Languages Team is all open source-code of the Roslyn compiler is still this week from Codeplex moved to GitHub. Also will the mechanism for pull requests to be adjusted and the Microsoft team will also be internal management to adjust the way of working of GitHub.
The VB team from Microsoft says the transition to GitHub to want to take advantage of the vibrant development community at the GitHub platform. The software giant makes increasingly use of GitHub. The company has the source code of various open-source projects on the software development platform placed. What are the consequences of this trend as possible for the future of Codeplex is still not entirely clear.
