The Liberals' member of parliament Gulan Avci – who is herself a Kurd and married to Israel friend and party colleague Fredrik Malm – describes Amnesty's actions in an X-rated post as “terrible”.

The terrible thing, according to her, is that Jews can be forced to see the posters that Israel is committing genocide, even though they are now celebrating a holiday.

The post is criticized not only by Israel critics but also by others who consider it inappropriate for the L politician to connect all Jews in Sweden with what the Israeli government and military are doing in Gaza.

However, Gulan Avci defends the post in a comment to Expressen.

– I think that Amnesty, which has traditionally had a high reputation, is running a one-sided propaganda campaign here. It affects Jews, because of the messed up situation that has arisen, she tells the newspaper.

The campaign is based on its own investigation in which Amnesty concludes that Israel's actions in Gaza constitute genocide. Similar conclusions have been drawn by Human Rights Watch and in a UN report. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was recently wanted by the International Criminal Court in The Hague, ICC, for crimes against humanity, among other things.

Amnesty has not yet commented on the L criticism.
