Woman with dog injured in explosion in Tyresö

A woman was taken to hospital after being injured in the detonation. The police suspect a crime and are now searching for suspects with the help of a helicopter.

It was just after half past one that residents in the area heard a loud bang.

According to Aftonbladet, a woman with a dog was injured in the explosion. The police have increased the cordons around the site and bomb disposal experts are now examining the building. Witnesses have also stated that two young people were seen in connection with the detonation, but no one has yet been arrested. A resident nearby describes to Aftonbladet how he heard the explosion and saw a police helicopter circling above the area. “It’s incredibly unpleasant. You get worried about your children,” he says. The area in question has previously been brought to attention after the Security Service carried out a raid on a nearby mosque in March. Four men are now facing charges of participating in a terrorist organization linked to IS in Somalia. Three of the defendants are also suspected of preparing to commit a terrorist crime and aggravated weapons offenses.
