Foreign. The British government is negotiating with Turkey, Vietnam and the Kurdish region of Iraq over possible payments to reduce the number of immigrants seeking Britain, Reuters reports.

TwittraSharePrime Minister Keir Starmer stated during his trip to the G20 summit in Brazil that the UK should discourage people from leaving their home countries and making the dangerous illegal journeys across the English channel.
– Anything we can do to stop people from leaving [their home countries] in the first place is the right thing, Starmer told reporters aboard the government plane.
According to The Times Interior Minister Yvette Cooper will discuss security and cooperation agreements with several governments, including the governments of Iraqi Kurdistan, Turkey and Vietnam. The goal is to complete the discussions before the end of the year.
Earlier in September, Starmer also praised Italy's efforts to stop illegal immigration, including the work of Italians to prevent the illegal immigrants from starting their journeys.
< p>Government representatives in London have chosen not to comment on the information about the negotiations with the foreign states.
