The government assesses that the current operations, despite the addition of fossil-free electricity production and proposed precautionary measures, cannot be allowed in view of the impact that the establishments would have on the interests of the defense.

Climate and Environment Minister Romina Pourmokhtari (L) points out that the trial of wind power often involves complex conflicts of interest and requires careful consideration.

– The government has taken note of views from expert authorities, organizations and individuals in these matters. In these current cases, however, the defense interest has weighed heavily, she says.

Defence Minister Pål Jonson (M) emphasizes that construction of the wind farms would lead to unacceptable consequences for Sweden's military defense, especially given the current security policy situation in the region.
