Woman dies after falling from balcony

Domestic. A woman in her 60s has died after falling from a great height at an apartment building in Södertälje early Thursday morning. A man has been arrested.

The police were called to the scene at 04.57 where the woman was found seriously injured. Although life-saving measures were put in place, her life could not be saved.

The circumstances surrounding how the woman fell are still unclear, and the police have therefore opened a preliminary investigation into murder to investigate whether a crime is behind the death.

A man, who had a close relationship with the woman, has been arrested and detained in connection with the incident. Both parties are in their 60s.

Police technicians worked during the day to examine the scene to collect evidence. The woman's relatives have been notified of the incident.
