Vance believes in a quick peace settlement in Ukraine and gives a fairly detailed description of how he intends this to happen.

– I think it looks like this, that Trump sits down and tells the Russians, the Ukrainians and the Europeans, that now you need to figure out what a peaceful solution should look like, says J.D. Vance.

According to Vance, the current border between the countries will become a demilitarized zone. Then the border with Ukraine must be strengthened so that Russia cannot invade again.

– Ukraine retains its sovereignty. Russia receives a guarantee of neutrality from Ukraine. You don't join NATO, says Vance and continues:

– I think in the end that's how it would look. And the Germans and other countries need to finance part of Ukraine's reconstruction. This is roughly how I think the agreement will ultimately look like.
