The decision, presented in a press release, means that the company stops several ongoing projects in LGBTQP issues and feminism.
The background to the change is a growing dissatisfaction among the company's core customers, which are mainly conservative and male drivers. Discontent came to a head after right-wing figurehead Bobby Starbuck exposed parts of the company's new policy program, which included feminist training for white male employees and participation in Pride events.
Harley Davidson announces it is now returning to focus on its traditional values and customers.
– We will work to grow as a company and spread the motorcycle culture and provide our loyal customers, military and war veterans with motorcycles, the company states.
The decision was received with joy by many loyal customers, and protest leader Bobby Starbuck vows on Fox News to continue the fight against similar PK initiatives in other companies.
