The girl, who is one of at least 50 youths under the age of 18 charged following the race riots in England, appeared before a district judge at Basingstoke Youth Court on Tuesday.

The day before, two 12- year-old boys for participating in the riots, writes The Guardian.

During the short hearing, the girl admitted that she participated in a violent incident where she and several other people behaved threateningly. According to the prosecutor, the girl was seen punching and kicking the front door of the hotel.

Thomas Power, senior prosecutor at the Crown Prosecution Service Wessex, describes the incident as “alarming” and expresses concern that such a young girl took part in the violence.

District Judge Tim Pattinson ordered an inquest to be held ahead of the girl's upcoming sentencing, which is due to be announced on September 30. She was released pending a bail hearing.

The incident took place at the Potters International Hotel in Aldershot on July 31, where a peaceful anti-immigration demonstration turned violent at 6.45pm. According to the police in Hampshire, a small percentage of the 200 protesters present began to throw objects at the asylum and make “racist” insults.

The British legal system has worked intensively during the week to quickly deal with the many cases related to the racial riots.
