Xiaomi announces POCO F6 and F6 Pro

Xiaomi has announced the POCO F6 and F6 Pro. The F6 is immediately available for 450 euros, the Pro version has prices from 580 euros. The phones follow on from last year's F5 and F5 Pro.

The F6 has a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, a cheaper version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 intended for midrange phones. The F6 Pro has an on-paper faster Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Both phones have 8GB or 12GB Lpddr5 memory and POCO provides them both with UFS 4.0 storage of at least 256GB. The Pro will also have a 1TB version.

The regular version will have a screen with a higher resolution than the predecessor. While it has a screen with 2400×1080 pixels, the new one has an OLED screen with 2712×1220 pixels. The screens can also be brighter, probably especially when displaying HDR content.

The cameras have also changed. The main camera now has a 50-megapixel sensor with a size of approximately 35 square millimeters. The camera with ultra-wide-angle lens has a small sensor of around 5 square millimeters and the Pro also has an even smaller sensor for a macro camera.

The phones will be released immediately. The F6 has prices from 450 euros, which is two tens of euros more than its predecessor. The Pro is becoming cheaper: where the F5 Pro cost 630 euros last year, the F6 Pro is available for prices from 580 euros.
