Two “Swedes” shot in Istanbul

Foreign. Two men within the gang criminal environment in Sweden have been shot in Istanbul. One is supposed to be dead, according to sources for SVT Nyheter.

The shooting took place in a cafe in Istanbul around 11:00 p.m. on Sunday evening, according to several Turkish sources.

The shot men are said to have connections to the Swedish criminal environment and specifically to gang leader Ismail “Jordgubben” Abdo.

Three suspected perpetrators are said to have been seen fleeing the scene, and the suspects has been chased by the police in Istanbul during the night.

A gun and eight empty shell casings were found at the crime scene. In addition, a car believed to belong to the suspected perpetrators was examined.

– These people are close to Ismail Abdo and this shooting will have major consequences, says SVT's reporter Diamant Salihu.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs tells SVT that they are “examining the information”.
