According to Musk, who was and funded the OpenAI Foundation when it was started, the board of OpenAI has acted contrary to its charter by focusing too much on making profits and too little on promoting open AI research.
Musk believes that OpenAI, which, among other things, is behind the left-wing chatbot ChatGPT, has ceded far too much influence to Microsoft.
OpenAI is therefore not the open source of AI research that the foundation was founded as, but a business operation that no longer benefits all of humanity , according to the lawsuit.
According to Musk, the profitabilityfocused is against OpenAI's charter, and Sam Altman has appointed various left-wing activists and financiers to the board who lack knowledge of AI.
“The the new board consists of members who have more experience in profit-focused operations and politics than in AI ethics and governance. They were also reportedly big supporters of Altman,” Musk writes in the lawsuit.
