Intel at CES, the Compute Stick announced. The stick is equipped with an Atom processor and have a hdmi input of a tv or monitor to be pricked. In the first instance is a version of Windows released, but Intel is also working on a Linux version.
The Intel Compute Stick contains a quad-core-Atom-processor from the Bay Trail series. The hdmi stick contains 2GB of ram and 32GB of internal flash storage. The storage capacity via a micro-sd card will be increased. To stick to feeding the usb connector will be used, but the stick can also use an adapter to be fed. Furthermore, 802.11 n-wi-fi and bluetooth are present.
The Compute Stick will Windows 8.1 run and should still be in the first quarter of this year. The suggested retail price is $ 149, converted to 125 euro. Intel claims that the dongle by consumers can be used to stream media to tvs, while companies, the hdmi stick can bet, for example, thin clients.
Intel, in november already alluded to the arrival of a hdmi dongle, promises later this year with a Linux version of the Compute Stick. This will be with a price of 89 dollars, converted 75 euros, significantly cheaper, but the storage is limited to 8GB and the ram is reduced to 1GB.
