Windows 11 insiders should soon be able to try out experimental new functions of the operating system themselves at their own request. A corresponding ID can already be found in the current Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 25281, which also includes the latest file system Microsoft ReFS (“Resilient File System”).
As the Deskmodder website first reported, Windows 11 insiders should in future also be able to test functions for Windows 11 that Microsoft currently classifies as “experimental” and may not yet, or even not at all, want to transfer to a final build . The optional feature “Experimental Features” to be included in the operating system is already well known to participants in the Microsoft Edge Insider Channel.
The corresponding ID, which can be activated as usual with the help of the Vive tool, was once again found by the two Twitter users and Windows insiders @thebookisclosed and @PhantomOfEarth.
Windows 11 gets many new features
More new features by the two Windows experts found and will soon find themselves in the new Windows 11 Insider Preview builds in the Dev Channel and Beta Channel look like this:
The settings under System → Screen → Graphics retain the consistent design of Windows 11 and no longer use the elements from Windows 10.
The in-house editor Microsoft Notepad, like the file explorer, has its own tabs, which is already the case Microsoft has been officially confirmed (source).
The file explorer has a gallery and a new file preview, which can also be activated in the current Insider Preview.
The editors have compiled comparison images for all new functions that are already represented with a corresponding ID in the current Insider Preview.
Redesign of the graphics settings
Microsoft makes the graphics settings GUI more consistent and adopts the design of WinUI 3, which is planned as a new native user interface platform component for Windows 11. All elements that are still from Windows 10 will be completely eliminated.
