Economics. The EU has approved the nationalization of the German energy company Uniper, which is now expected to take place shortly.

The nationalization is planned to take place before the turn of the year, and the shareholders in Uniper voted on Monday with a large majority in favor of the measure.
Majority owner Fortum had already given its approval in September.
Uniper has found itself in a severe crisis after Russia cut off gas supplies to Europe. The loss for Uniper is estimated at around 40 billion euros for the first nine months of this year.
