“LG presents the G Flex 2 smartphone with Snapdragon 810 and ddr4-memory”

LG’s curved smartphone G Flex 2 announced. It is LG’s first smartphone with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810-the soc, and is also one of the first smartphones with ddr4 memory. The phone has, like his predecessor, a self-healing back.

The G Flex2 has a curved 5,5″screen with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. It is a p-oled display with a plastic substrate for the malleability. The screen is smaller than that of the first G Flex, a 6″screen with 1280×720 pixels.

The phone itself is 14,9×7,5cm large, a tad bigger than LG’s own G3, which is also a 5.5″screen. The thickness varies from 7,1 to 9,4 mm. The phone weighs 152 grams.

The G Flex2 is the first announced devices with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810, an octacore processor with four Cortex A57 and four Cortex A53 cores. Because he is from the release running on Android 5.0 Lollipop, can the processor make use of the 64bit support. There is 2GB of ddr4-ram present, along with 16GB or 32GB of flash storage. The storage capacity is expandable with a microsd card and the smartphone is suitable for 4g networks. Also 802.11 ac wifi and bluetooth 4.1 are present, as well as nfc.

The 3000mAh battery can be in 40 minutes to 50 percent to be charged, so claims LG. To the front is a 2.1-megapixel camera, while on the back a 13-megapixel camera with optical image stabilization.

The curved phone also has a self-healing back, which small scratches disappear when the device is at room temperature. The smartphone will be available in late January in South Korea, and appears then in other countries. Information about any possible release and price in the Netherlands and Belgium, is not yet known.
