Media. Meta, formerly Facebook Inc, has developed a platform that encourages people to submit photos and videos of themselves when they are naked or having sex. This is in order to prevent the spread of “revenge porn” on Facebook and Instagram, reports RT.

The tool is aimed at “adults over the age of 18 who believe that an intimate picture of them can be shared, or has already been shared, without their consent”, Meta writes in a blog post.

The new platform, which Meta has developed together with the UK Revenge Porn Helpline and 50 other organizations, aims to stop publishing “revenge porn” in advance.

Users are encouraged to submit photos or videos of themselves when naked or having sex to a database on the StopNCII.org site. The “digital fingerprints” or so-called hashtags assigned to the material will then be used to immediately detect and stop attempts to upload the images or videos online.

Meta states that the system has been developed “with integrity and security in each step “. Only the hashtags of the images are shared with StopNCII.org and the technical platforms involved in the project assure the web giant.
