Casio has a new Exilim ex-model added to its line-up. The Exilim EX-ZS100 has a 12.5 x zoom lens with a wide angle of 24mm, it has mechanical image stabilization and is equipped with a ccd image sensor with 14.1 megapixels.
The Exilim EX-ZS100 has many similarities with the casio Exilim EX-H30, the current top model in the Exilim High-Zoom series of Casio. Both have a 12.5 x zoom lens with similar specifications, while the button configurations the same. In the EX-ZS100 Casio, however, the use of a 1/2,3″ccd image sensor with 14.1 megapixels, while the ccd-sensor in the EX-H30 has a resolution of 16.1 megapixels. The maximum set iso-value of the EX-ZS100 is iso 1600, while the EX-H30 is a stop further. Also the styling of the two cameras is different.
To the lack of a mode dial is that the Exilim ex-ZS100 especially for the casual photographer intended. In place of that button, the EX-ZS100 a number of additional features, such as Super Macro. In this mode, the camera switches itself over to the macro mode when the distance to the subject is small enough. In the Easy Mode, the user is even all the work taken out of his hands: as soon as the green focuslampje is concerned, can there be printed. Also, the camera features a Silent Mode where all operation sounds and the flash to be turned off.
In addition to still photos, the EX-ZS100 also 720p video with mono sound – shoot, which in the motion-jpeg format is stored. The camera is also compatible with Eye-Fi cards with wi-fi capability, and can be done via a usb cable to be charged. The Exilim EX-ZS100 is available in september in silver, red and black and the suggested retail price is 190 euro.
