Researchers claim a fingerprint of a German minister to have recreated on the basis of photos. Also they say if the German chancellor Angela Merkel by a irisscanner to come because they have iris reconstructed on the basis of a photo.
The researchers, Jan Krissler, and Tobias Fiebig of the University of Berlin say that they are using photos from various angles of the finger of the German minister of defence, a fingerprint have been able to build, writes the German newspaper Zeit. Krissler and Fiebig would the software VeriFinger have used and they will present their findings during the CCC congress in Hamburg.
The photos to the fingerprint are taken during a press conference with a standard 200mm-lens of a press photographer. Reproducing the fingerprint, however, proved not entirely an automated process: there was also craft. That makes this technology currently unsuitable for large-scale. In addition, there are sharp pictures of the fingers in high resolution.
It is not the first time that German researchers on fingerprints focus. They do that for years. Previously deceived them all the finger print scanner of the iPhone 5s.
