In the weekly App Missed section you can read which apps from the past week are worth checking out. We always discuss about five apps for iPhone, iPad and Mac. These can be apps that you may not have known about or that are useful or just funny to try. And that can also be veterans who have received a major update and therefore receive some extra attention.

iCulture App of the Week: Fiper Do you like to follow the news, but do you drive crazy with all those different news apps (and especially all those push notifications about the same news)? Then maybe Fiper is something for you. This Dutch app bundles all your news sources in one overview. When setting up, you choose the news categories that you find interesting. Fiper will then make a general selection.

You can find it in the tab bar at the top set categories and a way to discover resources. The app fetches articles via RSS. Unfortunately, there is no real reading function in the app. As soon as you open an article, the page will open as a website. You will stay in the app, so it's not a big deal. The app is completely free.

Mirror Magnet

Do you regularly film yourself on your Mac, for example because you make explainer videos? It is important that you have a good image. People who regularly make video calls know colleagues or fellow students who, after a while, sit comfortably. To prevent that, there is Mirror Magnet. This app always shows your camera feed in a corner of your screen and does not disappear when you open another app. This way you keep a better eye on your own attitude. You set Mirror Magnet as your camera and the app can also beautify your image.

HelloApp

Two former WhatsApp employees released the app HalloApp earlier this year. This is a social network that works like a chat app. You can have one to one conversations and chat in groups, but you can also view a timeline of messages posted by your friends. The makers say they do not use private data. Your number is only used to connect you with your contacts. Since this week, the HalloApp has also quietly become available in Dutch. If you can convince your friends, HalloApp is worth a try. The app has a fairly simple structure, which makes it easy to get started.

Breathable Air Quality Widget

This app is recommended for anyone who is interested in monitoring air quality. Breathable Air Quality Widget (a mouth full) shows you in a clear way how clean the air is in a certain place. The information comes from the internet. With the handy widget for your home screen you can quickly see where you stand. You can set which emoji is shown at a certain value, so that it really suits you. The app requires one purchase and it works on your Mac, iPhone and iPad.

A-Scanner

Looking for a separate app to convert your physical documents to PDF? Or do you want to export a piece of text to a digital file? That is possible with A-Scanner. This app can do almost everything you expect from a modern document scanner. You can copy text, digitize paper, draw on files, put signatures, protect files and much more. Not all advanced features are free. This requires a subscription.
