Tweaker makes a ‘Dash’button to detergent digital shopping list to convert

A tweaker has an AWS IOT-button linked to the delivery service of Albert Heijn. The button is next to a washing machine to hang, and as the detergent is, it can be pressed immediately a new bottle to add to a shopping list of Appie.nl.

Tweaker Sander van de Graaf had a stack of AWS IOT Buttons are. These are physical buttons that Amazon limited has provided to developers to experiment with and to internet services can be linked. “They can be used for Netflix to operate, pizzas to order and a button to Philips Hue,” according to Amazon, who already are Amazon Dash buttons for the orders proposed.

“It seemed fun to do the same for Appie.nl”, tells the story Of the Count of Tweakers. Albert Heijn has no public api available to get started with digital shopping lists and orders. “They have a times a hackathon before, and there is a public api that came from, but that no longer works”, according to the Count. After some clicking around’ he encountered, however, ‘hidden’ REST-services which he could do what he wanted. “Everything you need, and what you do with the mobile app, so to access it,” he said.

The AWS IOT-button is not enabled by default but wakes up after a click and then with the AWS IOT-service connection via wi-fi. Then, there are three actions possible, 1x click 2x click and hold, linking it to actions, such as sending an e-mail.

Of the Count, when a click to a lambda-function and added the attributes to the product_id of a bottle of detergent to the hidden service AH.nl . “I have only ‘add’ used, since I only needed one. Each product is to link it to a button and ordering and delivery is simple to add.” He has the simple api-client on Github so that others agree. In addition, the logo for the wasmerk that the button is stuck is online. “I hope that the marketing of AH meeleest and that they have the api open throw,” says the Count.

He is now working on implementation of the AWS v4 Signature for the cheap wi-fi module ESP8266. “You can get much more cool things to do in combination with lambda, and AWS IOT: measure the temperature in all your rooms, the yield of your solar panels to determine, motion detectors, automatic light off when you leave the home, and so on.”
