The fall of 2021 looks set to be a busy period for Apple. With a new iPhone and Apple Watch on the way, we're not done yet: new MacBooks and iPads are also expected. We are also looking at a number of other products.

Expected in fall 2021:

14- and 16-inch MacBook Pro

There are already a lot of rumors about the MacBook Pro, which should get a redesign in 2021. Last year, Apple only renewed the entry-level MacBook Pro, which means that professionals are not really getting their money's worth. In the fall of 2021, that will probably change with two new models, equipped with Apple Silicon and a new design. Here are the rumours:

• Two sizes: 14- and 16-inch
• Features M1X Apple Silicon chip
• New design with flat sides
• Narrower bezels around the screen
• Return of HDMI, SD card slot, more Thunderbolt ports, MagSafe
• Touch Bar is likely to disappear
• Possibly with mini-LED
• Expected between September and November 2021
• Possibly with special event in the fall

Great iMac

The iMac just got an update in funky colors, but it comes in just one 24-inch size. Many people are waiting for a successor to the 27-inch iMac and it could end up on your desk next fall. You will probably have to wait for the more powerful M1X chip, which is specially made for the more demanding users.

• Successor to the 27-inch iMac 2020
• Super-thin screen on foot, Similar in design to 24-inch iMac
• There is talk of a 30-inch screen size
• With M1X chip
• Probably in fewer colors

Other Mac models

Apple is said to have even more Macs in the pipeline, such as a redesigned 13-inch MacBook Air and a Mac Pro for professionals. In addition, the Mac mini could get an update. Because we haven't written much about this yet, we pay some extra attention to it. There is already a Mac mini with M1 chip, but Apple is rumored to release another one. This is equipped with an M1X chip, a more powerful variant of the processor developed in-house. The expected specs can be found below:

• M1X chip, more powerful than the current model
• Four Thunderbolt ports
• Up to 64GB RAM
• iMac-like power cable

iPhone 13

The most important product of 2021 is also the easiest to predict. It must be really crazy if we don't get an iPhone 13 this fall. The name also seems less problematic than initially thought: Apple would just like to stick to the iPhone 13 name, even though that number is not comfortable in some countries. Based on the iPhone 13 rumours, here are our expectations:

• Same design as its predecessor, the iPhone 12
• Four versions, from iPhone 13 mini to iPhone 13 Pro Max
• Smaller notch, same screen size
• 120 Hz ProMotion display on the Pro models, possibly with always on function
• Better image stabilization for the camera
• Larger battery on all models
• More 5G options

Apple Watch Series 7

We're pretty sure a new Apple Watch is on the way. Rumor has it that it's time for a redesign again, with flatter sides and a thinner housing. There may also be new colors. There is talk of blood glucose measurement, but it is quite possible that this will be postponed to a later moment. • Renewed design with flat edges
• New colors, including green
• Larger screen with thinner bezels
• Faster chip, which is more compact and more energy efficient
• Possibly a larger battery
• Improved Ultra-Wideband

There is also talk of a redesigned Apple Watch SE with minor adjustments. This can take the place of the Series 3, which in terms of specs can no longer keep up. But this renewed SE will probably not come until next year.

iPad 2021 (9th generation)

The regular iPad may be the best-selling, but at the same time the least exciting. Apple usually puts existing technology in it to keep the price low. Don't expect any remarkable innovations, just catching up with the more expensive models.

• Slightly more modern design
• Narrower screen bezels, such as the iPad Air
• Cheapest model, intended for a wide audience

iPad mini 2021 (6th generation)

What we're getting excited about is the iPad mini update that looks set to be coming this year. Because the price of the iPad mini 2021 is a bit higher, Apple also has more options to put fun innovations in it. It will be the biggest redesign in the history of the small tablet, experts like Mark Gurman predict. The iPad mini 2021 release is expected in the fall.

• Biggest redesign in years, will resemble the iPad Air
• New processor to replace the A12 Bionic
• Liquid Retina display from 8.5-inch to 9-inch
• Touch ID in the power button

Other products in autumn 2021

There are a few more smaller products we're likely to see this fall:

• AirPods 3
• Apple Pencil 3

With each The upcoming Apple event will again talk about new AirPods. They seem to be really coming this fall, probably during the iPhone event. They are much more like the AirPods Pro, with shorter stems but still no noise cancellation.

There have also been several rumors about a new Apple Pencil, the third generation to be precise. It would be a model with a glossy exterior, intended for the iPad Pro. A lot of details are not yet known about this.
