Razer renews the large gaming notebook Blade 17 with Intel processors from the Tiger Lake-H series and combines them again with the latest Nvidia GeForce RTX 3000 laptop GPUs. There are also improvements in cooling, webcam, microphones and touchpad. At the same time, the base model of the blade 15 is being reissued.
Razer has not had a normal Blade 17 in its range for a long time; the Blade Pro 17 was previously positioned above the Blade 15. The new Blade 17 now occupies this position, but the old models should remain in the range, as Razer confirmed when asked. New for the Blade 17 is the switch to Tiger Lake-H45 from 10 nm production, which was still pending in Razer's largest gaming notebook. An optimized vapor chamber should dissipate the heat better and make the notebook a desktop alternative in terms of performance. Razer consistently relies on the Intel Core i7-11800H, the Core i9-11900H is only found in the largest configuration.
At least RTX 3060, 16 GB RAM and 1 TB SSD
Graphics cards from the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3000 laptop GPU series, on the other hand, were already available in the Blade Pro 17, so that no innovations are celebrating their premiere with the notebook in this regard. The editors have not yet received any information on the TGP. The performance range extends from the GeForce RTX 3060 with 6 GB to the GeForce RTX 3080 in configurations with 8 GB and 16 GB in the top model for around 3,900 euros. The starting price of the notebook, which can be pre-ordered from today, is 2,600 euros including 16 GB RAM and 1 TB SSD. The details of the individual configurations can be found in the table.
New full HD webcam and more microphones
In the flood of specifications, it is possible that Razer has also made optimizations for video conferences on the notebook in times of the pandemic. There is a new webcam with full HD resolution in the frame, which also offers an infrared sensor for biometric registration via Windows Hello. Razer has also redesigned the microphones so that four instead of two are used. There is an optimized glass touchpad for the input devices, which is now supposed to better recognize accidental placing of the palm of the hand and prevent incorrect entries. width “>
