In the latest XboxEra podcast, Nick & quot; Shpeshal Nick & quot; Baker fueled the rumor mill to a new Quake. He was told that there was supposedly a new Quake game in development. The title is supposed to have a female main character for the first time for the shooter series and offer a single and multiplayer mode.
In addition to the Quake makers from id Software, MachineGames is said to be involved . Both studios are part of ZeniMax Media (Bethesda), which in turn is now owned by Microsoft. The Swedish studio MachineGames also has experience in the genre and has worked on the more recent Wolfenstein titles, among other things.

But it still remains with this vague rumor, which is based on a “random dm” that Baker received.
One can only speculate whether there will already be an announcement at QuakeCon 2021, which will again take place digitally from August 19th to 21st. There is still no information on the status of the development.
25 years of Quake
Just yesterday the first part celebrated a special anniversary: Quake was published on June 22, 1996 and is therefore 25 years old.
Today marks 25 years since players first stepped through the Slipgate. 25 years of traversing twisted realms, battling nightmarish creatures, and preventing the invasion of Earth by destroying the Hell-Mother!
