Amazon is updating both the Echo Show 8 and the Echo Show 5 and equipping both with a new camera, which should offer better image quality for video calls and home surveillance. The Echo Show 8 now uses a 13-megapixel wide-angle camera – previously only a 1-megapixel model was used.
13 1 megapixel
The new 13-megapixel camera with integrated camera cover pans digitally during video calls and automatically zooms in to keep the person in front of the lens in focus. The new Echo Show 10 (test) offers a similar function, but it can also rotate the entire display. With the updates, Amazon takes into account the fact that last year almost three times as many video calls were made worldwide via Alexa as in the previous year.

In addition, the Octa-core processor MediaTek MT8183 with a clock frequency of up to 2.0 GHz is now used – previously, the MediaTek MT8163, an SoC with four ARM Cortex-A53 processor cores with up to 1.5 GHz.

Also Echo Show 5 with a better camera
