Legion Y25-30g: Lenovo brings a 360 Hz monitor with a Reflex Latency Analyzer

Lenovo joins the ranks of manufacturers who offer a monitor for gamers with a high refresh rate of 360 Hz. The recipe behind the Lenovo Legion Y25G-30 is familiar: An IPS display with 24.5 inches and Full HD resolution is combined with a G-Sync module from Nvidia.

Since Acer, Asus and Dell have long since placed a 360 Hz monitor on the market, Lenovo can no longer advertise with the title“ first ”. The press release speaks of the “fastest refresh rate in the world”, although the upcoming Acer Nitro XV252QF should not be forgotten, which will even offer 390 Hz thanks to overclocking.

360 Hz for uncompromising players

A high refresh rate reduces streaks and ensures low latency. This is particularly noticeable when changing from the standard frequency of 60 Hz to around 120 Hz. The advantages with even higher refresh rates such as 240 Hz or in this case 360 Hz are not quite as clearly noticeable, but measurable and relevant for some professional gamers. Accordingly, Lenovo wants to address professional gamers in the eSport sector with the monitor in particular. Additionally equipped with a G-Sync module, the Nvidia Reflex Latency Analyzer (test) is part of the special gaming equipment.

The IPS panel should achieve a response time of 1 ms when changing between gray levels and has 8 bit color depth and 99 percent sRGB. In addition, Lenovo advertises with a color difference of Delta E <2. The brightness should reach 400 cd/m², while the contrast ratio is 1,000: 1. The connections include DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.0 twice. There is also a USB hub with three USB-A sockets and a USB-C port, which provides connected devices with up to 27 watts of power. The audio area is served by a combo port (headphones/microphone) and integrated loudspeakers, there is a hook for hanging up a headset.

The Lenovo Artery Software can not only make display settings, but also control the RGB lighting effects in the monitor housing. The striking base with a hole design allows the display to be tilted, lifted, swiveled and rotated.

360 Hz have their price

Lenovo will not reveal a price for the Legion Y25G-30 until a later date. Since competing models currently cost between 620 euros and 800 euros, the Lenovo display should also be within this price range. The Y25G-30 should be available sometime in autumn.

The surcharge for the 360 Hz technology is high because it comes with a 24.5-inch IPS monitor 240 Hz is already available for around 300 euros.
