MOBILIZE: electric car sharing with Renault ZOE. In Italy it starts from Bergamo

MOBILIZE debuts in Italy in Bergamo, & egrave; managed by a local dealer (Oberti) and & egrave; the new electric car-sharing service that looks in the direction of the paradigm shift that is embracing mobility . Not just a green transition, where intensity of that green will depend & agrave; how long the whole system will be; capable of generating electricity from truly sustainable sources, but also a detachment from the concept of the car as a means of ownership .

This is a generational change: if before the car was synonymous with freedom; because & eacute; linked to the possession of a vehicle capable of moving us, now that freedom it wants to redefine itself with a view to de-materialization. Getting around means finding a shared car – less traffic, less parking spaces occupied, less stationary than cars when not in use – and using it as needed with a couple of clicks on the related app.


MOBILIZE & egrave; the business unit of the Renault group that wants to build all those services that go beyond the automobile. Strongly pushed by Luca De Meo, after his passage to the French group, MOBILIZE aims to solve three critical issues.

Eliminate the stop of the car : 90% of the time the car is; unused. Improve residual value : today cars devalue quickly, by sharing them you can & ograve; increase the time of use of the fleet under the watchful eye of manufacturers and service providers who will download from the customer the commitment in terms of maintenance, however significantly reduced for battery-powered vehicles.

Finally, reduce emissions : 15% of CO2 emissions in Europe are; linked to the automobile, with electrification the aim is to reduce this number.

The way to achieve these three goals is based on four pillars:

  • dedicated engineering : vehicles that last a long time and reduce operational costs, optimized for intensive rental use, with more washable upholstery; easily. Each Zoe for car sharing has a box and a simplified interface to manage the fleet and gives instructions to the car to be enabled via the app.
  • 2nd life : the recycling of the batteries of the electric fleet
  • Software Republique : many hi-tech partners who collaborate with the automotive world to develop the software of the future
  • RCI : the financial proposal for institutions, companies and private customers.

Zoe & egrave; the first card that MOBILIZE will play; with the Bergamo car sharing, followed by Dacia Spring which we tested in preview. A more car will also arrive between 2022 and 2023; compact and a delivery vehicle.

Car sharing aims to enter as a main player in the future trend of smart cities, integrating into an ecosystem still at the dawn of its development. Bergamo & egrave; only the beginning but, soon, 8 additional Renault dealerships will launch the electric car sharing service in the relevant territories .

HOW SHARING WORKS

There are 20 bases of Mobilize car sharing in Bergamo for collection and return of the car that will be sanitized by a partner company. One & egrave; the model with which to take & agrave; foot service: 52 kWh Renault Zoe with a promised WLTP range of 395 kilometers. Connected with Easy Link, the car will be available in 35 specimens in Bergamo and 10 in the surrounding areas , thus expanding the service outside the city walls.

Car sharing defined as & quot; station based & quot; provides for the obligation to return the vehicle to the same pickup station with dedicated parking spaces: a system therefore suitable for a & quot; round trip & quot; use. The bases are in various centers of interest: station, stadium, university; and theaters and each has a dedicated employee who monitors the battery charge of each vehicle and, with Framar, sanitization.

From June 2021 it will be; the app is available to book the car, open and close it (it works as a key) and choose the duration of the rental. Being electric, the cars will then have access to free parking, preferential lanes and ZTL access. You can & agrave; also use them for medium-long trips during the day, as long as you bring them back to the base.

Zoe, with MOBILIZE, therefore becomes the means to move or leave the city; without bearing the fixed costs of a car that, otherwise, would not be used much. It is a response to a specific need, obviously unsuitable for those who make continuous use of the car.

At the end of the service in the sharing fleet, the cars can be sold as used, both because & eacute; the expedients in terms of equipment make them more & ugrave; & quot; robust & quot; and rental proof, both because & eacute; maintenance & egrave; managed by Renault throughout its life cycle, including the care of the battery and its recharge .

HOW MUCH DOES MOBILIZE WITH ZOE COST

With the hourly rate of 10 & euro; 50 km are included and the rental is from a minimum of 30 minutes to a maximum of 10 days. After the first 50 km, take the kilometer rate of 0.20 euro/km . Who plans more commissions? long pu & ograve; take advantage of the daily rate of 50 & euro; which therefore places a maximum limit in case of intensive use of the car.

The car can be booked well in advance , even a few months, and the rental can be; be extended & quot; running & quot; in case of change of programs or unexpected events, should the need arise.

The only limitation is; autonomy: if & egrave; it is true that you can & ograve; move anywhere and even outside the city, is not; the possibility is foreseen; for the customer to recharge the car , thus binding its use to those maximum 395 kilometers thus; to have the recharge managed by dedicated personnel.
