“Spotify users listened to seven billion hours of music”

The fifty million users of Spotify have this year more than seven billion hours of music streamed. That is according to figures from Spotify. The song Happy of Pharrell Williams is the most streamed song of this year.

The number of seven billion hours of geluisterde Spotify-music comes down to an average of 140 hours per subscriber. Spotify users listened to the most Happy of Pharell Williams; in the Netherlands was Rather Be from Clean Bandit, however, the most popular. Tiësto was the most popular Dutch artist abroad; in the Netherlands was Marco Borsato.

Spotify also gives users the opportunity to have an overview of their ‘muziekjaar’ to run, in which they see how much they in total have listened to and which music a user has had the most played.

The streaming service now has fifty million subscribers, but knows not yet to make a profit, as it turned out recently. The company had a net loss of 57.8 million euros. Less than a quarter of Spotify users pay for the service, but 90 percent of the income of Spotify comes from the paid version.
