Cornelia Funke is Germany’s most successful children’s and youth book author. Now her latest novel appears: “the Labyrinth of The Faun”, after a Film by Oscar-winner Guillermo del Toro.
Del Toro’s Film “pan’s Labyrinth” (2006) was her favorite movie, well-known spark recently in an Interview. A girl immersed in a fantasy world, and must consist of three tasks so that she achieved her place as a Princess of the underground Empire.
Similarly, in Funke’s novel adaptation “The maze of the Faun”. Since it takes place in the young Ofelia escaping from her ruthless stepfather in a Kingdom full of enchanted places and magical beings. Ofelia’s fantasy world is beautiful and cruel at the same time. Funke’s novel revolves around the question of whether innocence can triumph over Evil.

Del Toro apparently knew how Cornelia Funke likes his movies, since they gave him a Spanish edition of ink world trilogy for his children. When he asked her to write a novel version of “pan’s Labyrinth”, held it for an impossible task: “But not impossible tasks to say no!” the author, “we know from fairy tales.”
