BMW shows i3 and i8-whole concept car’s

Car manufacturer BMW has its latest concept cars unveiled. The German company showed two cars in the i-series: one of the cars is a fully electric-powered vehicle; the second is a hybrid with traditional internal combustion engine.

The i8 is on the Vision EfficientDynamics sports car-based hybrid of both an electric motor as a high performance internal combustion engine is provided. The electric motor can, however, only about thirty-two kilometers of driving: the 1.5-liter combustion engine to be switched. Can the battery, bearing in mind the Vision EfficientDynamics concept, through a standard wall outlet to be charged. The speed on the electric engine is ‘limited’ to 215 kilometers per hour. The combustion engine delivers 328pk and moving at 32 kilometers per liter of fuel, very economical for current concepts: the i8 is, however, only in 2014 on the market.

A year earlier, in 2013, the smaller i3 will appear on the market. This version is fully electric and designed as a city car. The electric motor delivers a torque of 250Nm and accellereert the car in four seconds to 60 miles per hour, while for the 100 mile-per-hour eight-second takes. The scope of the 170pk-electric motor is a small 130 miles, then the battery via the power socket can be recharged. The charging of the battery to a capacity of eighty percent only takes an hour. For whom the range is insufficient, an optional ‘range extender’, a small auxiliary motor in order to recharge the battery, provided in the REx-version.
