Aviation sector wants to avoid renewed chaos in the skies in 2019

The aviation industry wants to prevent with a package of measures to massive disruptions in air traffic this year in the future. It is planned to have more staff in air traffic control and the security checks.

The air travel summit in Hamburg, representatives from business and politics, decided on Friday a series of measures against delays and flight cancellations. There are 25 measures had been agreed, which should lead to “the System of air transport in Germany”, said Federal Minister of transport, Andreas Scheuer (CSU). “We can use air traffic, and we want to prove.”

The “situation analysis” was not clear, said Scheuer: “Nobody is satisfied, everybody wants to improvements.” The problems in air transport are not a purely German Problem, but a European challenge because: “in The sky.”

Less delays and cancellations

On Friday, the measures adopted are intended to prevent a Situation like in summer repeats. Due to safety margins, strikes and shortage of staff, the Airlines had to cancel hundreds of flights; many of the machines took off and landed with delays. The number of victims was considerably higher than in the previous year.
