Banks send 2014 sms or e-mail for collection

Banks from 2013 or 2014 customers an sms, e-mail, or other signal send before they debit the money charged. The call is part of a new European incassosysteem, that the banks in the coming years to enter.

People are given the nod towards if the system is fully operational, says spokesman Bob Goulooze of Currence, the company that means of payment in the Netherlands manages. “That requires a lot of adjustments in systems and software for banks and businesses,” said Goulooze against Tweakers.net. Therefore, the system may only have a few years to be entered.

It is still unclear how the signal will be given. A sms, e-mail or pop-up during the online banking is the most obvious. Presumably, the consumer may choose. It is more than just a notification, says Goulooze. “If the direct debit by mistake, you can pre-block. That prevents erroneous direct debits and saves consumers and banks a lot of effort.”

The new incassosysteem is probably associated with a new system for processing acceptance giro forms. However, it is unclear whether that system is to come. “Banks are still waiting, because the use is steadily decreasing. We process now 150 million bill per month, but more and more companies calculate cost to customers with payment slip to pay. Therefore, it will become less popular.” Of all the acceptance giro form that will be sent by post, is about 30 percent paid with the submitted bill. The rest is digital paid.
