Sony Online Entertainment has made official the successor of PlanetSide, the eerstepersoonsschiet-mmog from 2003. The new part is called simply PlanetSide 2. When the game appears, is not known.
During the Sony Online Entertainment Fan Faire, which is currently taking place in Las Vegas, the publisher has announced to be working on PlanetSide 2.
