UPC has begun the sale of mobile subscriptions to all of its customers. Until now it had only a group of testers with a mobile subscription of the kabelaar. UPC wants to distinguish itself by a ‘gezinsabonnement’ offer, which multiple customers at the same time.
The kabelaar held since October, a test under its own customers and has now the sale of the subscriptions made available for all customers. Customers of other kabelaars or isps, can the subscription is not shut down: a subscription from UPC is required to use the mobile subscription.
With a gezinsabonnement pay users for UPC Mobile a tenner per month extra for each additional sim card for a new user. The members of the family have a private number and the connection, but to share the voice minutes, sms and data. Such a construction is known already for years in other countries and providers in the Netherlands to speak more openly about the possibility of gezinsabonnementen. Customers of UPC Mobile get no access to 4g. UPC Mobile makes use of the Vodafone network, as confirmed by the provider against Tweakers.
