Technologiesite Ars Technica had Monday night and Tuesday morning briefly with a defacement. The frontpage went black and showed the Twitter accounts of the alleged perpetrators of the bekladding.
The front page of Ars Technica was about midnight Dutch time from a black screen with the text ” Ars Security. Below were the Twitter accounts @nidohax and @metapawd mentioned, with the caption ‘cue the music’. In the background was music of probably Dual Core.
The administrators of Ars Technica, we knew the bekladding quickly to undo and there are no indications that it is a hack. It is unclear how the perpetrators behind the defacement to work. It seemed in any case not to the Syrian Electronic Army. This group held in the past been home with defacements, dns server attacks and hacks.
