Arctic announces hybrid water cooler for AMD video cards

The Swiss company Arctic has his latest videokaartkoeler released. The Accelero Hybrid 7970 is, as the name implies, designed for AMD’s latest Radeon HD 7970 graphics cards, and combines water with air cooling.

The Accelero Hybrid 7970 has a lot of way of a closed water system, such as Asetek and CoolIT for processorkoeling be used. The graphic-kaartkoeler is composed of a radiator with a 120mm fan that heat of a heat sink with an integrated water pump to the outside of the casing for elimination. The copper heat sink on the gpu is mounted, and an extra 80mm fan provides the cooling for the power supply and the video card’s memory. The complete cooler can according to Arctic in a total of 320W of power to dissipate.

The 80mm fan on the graphics card runs at 900 to 2000 rpm and the 120mm fan on the radiator running at 400 to 1350 rpm. The construction on the video card, consisting of the fan, the heat sink and a plastic casing, weighs 363 grams. The heat exchanger with a 120mm fan in place of the exhaust on top or rear of the enclosure assembled and weighs 503 grams.

The cooler comes with an extensive accessory package delivered to a large number of AMD cards to fit. Except on the fastest card, the 7970, the cooler on the 7950 and 7800 series, and on the high-end 6000 and 5000-series cards are mounted. The coolers would not only better cooling than the stock cooler but also much quieter. Those properties have a price; the Accelero Hybrid 7970 will cost $ 180.
